Deploying Volunteer Teachers in Tunduru: Strengthening Community-Based Learning
Tunduru Community Development Initiative (TCDI) continues to strengthen access to education in rural communities through the deployment of volunteer teachers.
In many villages across Tunduru, students face limited access to academic support, especially in key subjects such as English and Mathematics. To address this gap, TCDI mobilizes volunteer teachers to support learning in community-based tuition centres.
Where We Work
The initiative is currently active in five villages: Mkasale, Mtina, Nasya, Mkotamo, and Marumba. These centres provide structured learning sessions designed to improve academic performance and student confidence.
Role of Volunteer Teachers
- Delivering lessons in English and Mathematics
- Supporting students with academic challenges
- Providing mentorship and guidance
Through this approach, TCDI is not only improving academic outcomes but also building a supportive learning environment within the community.
Our Commitment
As a community-based organization (CBO), TCDI focuses on creating sustainable systems that ensure continuity, accountability, and long-term impact in education and youth development.
