Membership
Membership of TCDI is governed by the TCDI Constitution. Categories, eligibility and responsibilities are set out there.
What membership means
A member of TCDI is any person who has joined the organisation voluntarily and intends to take part in community development work under the Constitution.
Membership categories
- Founder members
- Those who took part directly in establishing TCDI in 2022 and whose names were listed at registration.
- Ordinary members
- Young people and others connected to the social and educational life of Tunduru District, including those who left Tunduru to study elsewhere in Tanzania at certificate, diploma, degree or postgraduate level. Membership is not granted on the basis of place of origin alone, but on a person's relationship with the vision, objectives and work of TCDI and their readiness to contribute.
- Honorary members
- People or institutions that have made an exceptional contribution to the organisation or the community. Honorary membership is granted by the Executive Committee. Honorary members do not have voting rights.
Joining
- Membership of TCDI is voluntary.
- An applicant completes an application form and submits it to the Secretary.
- The Executive Committee receives, examines and approves membership applications.
Rights of a member
- To take part in the lawful activities and meetings of the organisation
- To elect and to be elected to leadership positions, except honorary members
- To give views and proposals for the development of the organisation
- To receive accurate information about its activities and decisions
Responsibilities of a member
- To follow the Constitution, the rules and the lawful decisions of TCDI
- To take part in its development work as far as they are able
- To protect the good name, property and interests of the organisation
- To maintain discipline, solidarity and good conduct
Ending membership
Membership may be suspended or ended where a member breaches the Constitution, the rules or a lawful decision, and it ends automatically on the death of a member. Every step follows the disciplinary process and respects the dignity of the person concerned.

How an application is handled
You send an application through this website.
The office records it and the Secretary presents it for review.
The Executive Committee examines and decides on the application.
Approved applicants are recorded as members of TCDI.
Founding members are recognised by the Constitution. They are recorded directly in the membership register and never pass through the ordinary application workflow.
Your details are kept privately for review by the office. They are never published on this website.
